✦ AniTales — Terms of Service
1. What AniTales is
AniTales is a web app for AI-powered interactive anime fiction. Stories, images, and characters are generated by artificial intelligence in response to your choices. Content is fictional and generated on demand — it may occasionally be inaccurate, inconsistent, or unexpected. AniTales is currently in beta: features may change, and occasional downtime or bugs are part of the deal.
2. Your account
Accounts are identified by a username and password (no email required). You're responsible for keeping your password and player code private — anyone with them can use your account and its credits. One person per account. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service, attempt to exploit billing, or harass other players.
3. Credits & purchases — all sales are final
- Credits are a digital good delivered instantly to your account at the moment of purchase.
- Credits are non-refundable, non-transferable, and have no cash value. Unused credits are not redeemable for money.
- Credits never expire while your account exists.
- Prices, pack sizes, per-turn costs, and promotional bonuses may change; changes never remove credits you already hold.
- Billing errors are always made right: if a purchase doesn't arrive or you're charged incorrectly, contact us (section 7) and we'll fix it.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
3a. Creator rewards
- When other players play a world you published, a share of the credits they spend inside it (currently 20%) is credited to your balance. The share is paid in credits only: it has no cash value, cannot be withdrawn, and is subject to section 3.
- Credits you spend in your own world, spend by the admin, and spend by accounts younger than 24 hours do not earn a share. Each world's daily earnings are capped; the cap and the percentage may change with notice in the app.
- Rewards exist to reward worlds real players enjoy. Farming the share with alternate accounts, coordinated spending, or automated play is abuse: we may withhold or reverse rewards and close the accounts involved.
- Published worlds must follow section 4. A world removed for breaking those rules forfeits its unpaid rewards.
- Feedback left on a world page is visible to its creator and to other players; it must follow section 4 too.
Monthly plans. A plan is a monthly subscription billed through Stripe that adds a fixed number of credits to your account each time a payment completes, plus plan perks (such as a lower per-turn price on the Community tier). Plan credits are ordinary credits: they never expire while your account exists and are yours to keep if you cancel. You can cancel or change your plan at any time from the Manage plan button; cancelling stops future charges and ends the perks at the close of the paid period. Plan payments are final and not prorated or refunded for partial months. If a monthly payment fails, Stripe retries it; the plan ends if payment cannot be collected.
4. Content & conduct
You must be at least 16 to use AniTales. Stories can contain mature fictional themes; genuinely extreme content is blocked by the underlying AI systems and attempting to elicit it may result in suspension. You own your inputs; you're free to use the stories you create personally. Don't use AniTales to generate content that's illegal, that targets real people, or to disrupt the service (automation, exploits, credit farming across accounts).
5. Multiplayer
Co-op stories, dungeon parties, and direct messages are shared with the players you invite or join. Be decent to each other. Room codes shared with others let them join your story.
6. Your data
We store your username, a securely hashed password, your credit balance and purchase ledger, your stories, and in-app messages — that's what makes your account work across devices. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising. Story text is sent to third-party AI providers (such as Anthropic and Google) solely to generate your content. Those providers do not train on it: every request we send carries a no-training flag.
Community tier (opt-in). The Community tier runs on Meta's Muse Spark Contributor model and costs less because Meta may use what is sent to it to improve their models. If you turn this tier on — which requires ticking a consent box, recorded with a date and time — the story turns you play on it are shared with Meta: your character sheet, your messages, the story's memory, the world's premise and cast, and the AI's replies. Your username, email, password, payment details, messages to friends, and stories played on any other tier are never shared. The Community tier is not available in NSFW stories or co-op rooms; in 18+ stories, an explicit moment is written on the Gold 18+ tier instead and never shared. You can turn it off at any time from the story menu; sharing cannot be undone for turns already played.
7. Contact & disputes
Fastest: the 💬 Feedback button inside the app, or message ANITALES.ADMIN in-app. Billing questions are typically resolved within a day. Please contact us before opening a card dispute — we can fix genuine problems faster than the dispute process can.
8. The legal bits
AniTales is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months. We may update these terms; the effective date above changes when we do, and continued use after a change means you accept it. Tabletop game mechanics in Dungeon Party mode are used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license from the System Reference Document 5.2 by Wizards of the Coast LLC; AniTales is not affiliated with or endorsed by Wizards of the Coast.
